Thank you Glendive for your donations and generosity
Two weeks ago, you published my letter seeking help/donations for our annual Community Christmas Dinner, to be held at the EPEC, on Sunday, December 25. Our local Glendive Promise Keepers men’s group, a non-denominational Christian mens organization, has hosted this for seven years, and the last three years we have fed approximately 1,000 people each time! This year, our eighth, has found us scrambling for help/donations to conduct this great time of food and fellowship, due to availability of both man and women power and funds. In order to figure out if we could pull it off, it was suggested that I publish a letter to the editor and determine what the general public felt about it.
I am so happy to report that a number of individuals and sponsors have stepped forward to be a part of it, and we will be hosting this great dinner once again, serving from 11 am till 3 pm on Sunday, Dec 25! Frankly it has become a Glendive tradition, and many find it a time of sharing both food and great fellowship for all. It has been funded through free will donations, no charge at the door, and all are welcome and encouraged to come! As usual we will have a great turkey and ham dinner, Santa Claus will be there with gifts for the kids, and Jim and Ellen McBride will play their instruments and lead Christmas carols!
At the time of my last letter, I asked people to open their hearts and be a part of making this dinner happen. Thank you for your response, thank you for your generosity, not just monetarily, but personally giving of your time and thank you for advancing the true spirit of this blessed season. My Mom gave me a painting one time that says, “Whatever you do for yourself , dies with you, What you do for others lives for eternity.” If you want to be a part of this great event, call Kevin McGovern, 406 939 3199, or Bob Ackerman 406 939 2633. You will never regret it, it is great work with great people!
