Town Pump is definitely coming to Glendive. However, groundbreaking for the facility will be determined by the company’s ability to receive sewer and water services from Dawson County.
“We are excited about coming to Glendive. We are patiently awaiting the word that we will have water and sewer available to the land we have purchased,” confirmed Maureen Kenneally, public relations representative for Town Pump.
Town Pump has purchased 80 acres on Highway 16 on which to build a Town Pump Travel Plaza. Town Pump, Inc is a Montana based chain of truck stops, convenience stores, car washes, casinos, and motels.
“We are looking at different options for design at this point,” added Kenneally.
The company is looking at options for the travel plaza which could include items like whether it will include a casino and which food service provider will be included.
Though a food vendor has not yet been determined, discussions have been conducted with McDonald’s as well as two or three other vendors, according to Kenneally.
“There will be food service. We just cannot provide a name at this point,” Kenneally said.
“The Dawson County Economic Development Council has been working with Town Pump from the beginning and is looking forward to continuing to do so. DCEDC is also assisting Town Pump in working on ensuring water is available for the Travel Plaza,” commented Amy Deines, the executive director for DCEDC.
Kenneally stated, “We have heard from many individuals and businesses in Glendive about how anxious they are for our arrival. Rest assured, so are we.”
