Agnes M. Berg

Agnes M. Berg, age 93, of Glendive, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care in Glendive.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Francis Schreiber officiating. Interment will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in the Wibaux County Cemetery in Wibaux. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Agnes was born on November 25, 1923 in Beach, N.D. to parents Peter and Thersa (Kramer) Schieffer. She was raised and started her education in Beach. The family then moved to Rocky Butte, Mont. where Agnes finished her education at Murray Country School through the 8th grade. In February of 1946, she and Roy Berg eloped to Minn., and to this union five children were born. Agnes worked as a bowling scorekeeper, bartender and waitress, worked at Eastmont, and cleaned houses, but her true passion was being a homemaker and raising her children and later babysitting her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Agnes enjoyed volunteering and was a hard worker. She was a wonderful cook. She strived to keep her family together and enjoyed family gatherings. She always had surprises for the children of the family when she saw them. She also loved to visit her sister and brother-in-law in Rapid City, S.D., and go to the dog races. When she wasn’t with her family or serving others, she enjoyed being at home and working in her yard.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Berg; daughter-in-law, Cindy Berg; and siblings Sylvester, Tony, Hank, Cecelia and Catherine.

Agnes is survived by her children Linda (David) Snodgrass of Casper, Wyo., Richard (Karen) Berg of Glendive, Dennis (Claudia Bakken) Berg, Jaci (Larry) Noonan of Fairmont, Mont., and James Berg of Ariz.; grandchildren, Jodi Lovell, Jason Lovell, Justin (Mona) Lovell, Breon (Damon Scherting) Berg, Blaine Berg, Rikki (Austin Clements) Berg, Jeremy (Cara Lovegrove) Berg, Megan (Tige) Berreth, Bobby Wurm, Brian (Sarah) Wurm, Beth (Bryon Higgens) Wurm and Brashden (Bree) Miller; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Piesik, Pete (Ruth) Schieffer, Bill Schieffer, Patty (Curt) Foust and Paul (Elaine) Scheiffer; sister-in-law, Irma Shieffer; numerous nieces and nephews; and special lady, Carole Diede of Glendive Medical Center Hospice.
