Cody Gordon Carlsen

Cody Gordon Carlsen was born February 1, 1980, in Sidney. He passed away on October 1, 2017.

Cody was the son of Leslie and Sally (Hickok) Carlsen and brother to Laramie Dean-Young.  Cody grew up primarily on a farm outside of Richey, where he learned how to work with horses, cattle, sheep and pigs. During his childhood Cody developed a strong interest in history, focusing on the Civil War, which led him to re-enacting battles across the country and collecting Civil War memorabilia. Cody was also an excellent mechanic; during the final years of his life, he worked with his father at the Carlsen Sinclair Station in Circle, where he offered excellent service to the community.

Cody is survived by his parents, Les and Sally; his brother, Laramie (Ryan); his sons, Tyler Smith and Sam Carlsen; his wife, Nancylee (Cadorette) Carlsen, and her children, Joseph (Larisa), David (Amanda), and Casey (Katie); five grandchildren; his grandfather, Tom Hickok; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. We miss him and will always keep him in our hearts.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 1-6 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle.  Family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Circle. In lieu of flowers the family is setting up a trust for Cody’s son Sam Carlsen and those memorials can be made to the Red Water Valley Bank of Circle.
