Earl Ringen

Earl Ringen, age 76, of Glendive, Montana, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Prairie Community Hospital in Terry, Montana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Frances Schreiber officiating. Rite of Committal will be held in the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale -Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Earl was born on October 26, 1937 in Roswell, South Dakota, the son of Fred and Bessie (Good) Ringen. He was raised and educated in South Dakota graduating from Fedora High School with the Class of 1957. He met and later married his best friend, Rosalie Ott in 1958 and to this union two children were born, Wanda and Terry.

Earl worked for the railroad starting with the Northern Pacific Railroad and retiring from Burlington Northern Railroad after forty one years of service. Earl loved spending time with his family and was an avid car enthusiast and fisherman. 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Bessie Ringen; five brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie of Glendive; children, Wanda Ringen and Terry (Lea) Ringen all of Glendive; grandchildren, Jessie and Rachel Ringen of Glendive; sisters, Gladys Kessler of Mitchell, South Dakota; sister - in - laws, Ann Ringen of Butterfield, Minnesota and Eleanor Ringen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and numerous nieces and nephews.
